Wyoming Horseback Riding Adventures
Our rides are nothing if not an adventure! The rugged Wyoming landscape has always called out to the adventurous heart, beckoning us to roam the mountains on horseback, dip beneath the whispering pines and find that piece of the soul that lingers on tall mountain tops.
This call has been answered by a select few before us and GRBTO offers you the opportunity to do the same. Horseback ride over wind-swept trails on our seasoned, hard-working horses while you reconnect and take in the breathtaking sights. As your experienced guides we will guide you in exploring the majesty of Wyoming’s Gros Ventre Wilderness, seeing this country much the same as our ancestors long before us. The land you’ll see when riding with GRBTO is undeveloped, conducted entirely in National Forest and wilderness. And you won’t find any nose-to-tail rides here–all of our rides take place on varied trails that demand the rider participate—and ultimately improve—their horse skills.

Historic Craig Cabin in Bridger-Teton National Forest

Half Day plus! Horseback Trail Rides
Let us take you to our secluded, 100+ year old historic cabin, on horseback for a real taste of what life was like in days of old. Our trail takes us through interesting terrain, including timbered forest, open meadows, through streams and up high for breath-taking views. Midway, we will take a break at our historic cabin and enjoy a hearty sack lunch. You can learn its history and have time to poke around; perhaps we’ll glimpse a beaver working diligently in the pond or a moose wandering through camp. Going back, we travel a different trail looking in the mountain meadows for wildlife and taking in scenic views. As with all our rides, you will be in wild, pure woodlands with no development in sight!
Our horseback rides are for buckaroos 8 years and over and before every ride we give a short, informative “preride talk” to help your ride be as safe and fun as possible. You should allow about 4-5 hours for this experience.
We have start time options: 10:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. are the standards, depending on the season.
Half Day Plus | $195 per person | $350 private |

Then head to our trapper’s cabin for a savory grilled lunch and bask in the feeling of having history all around you. We’ll mount back up and meander the hidden trails searching for wildlife and listening to the bird songs as we make our way to our starting point. Our horseback rides are for buckaroos 8 years and over and before every ride we give a short, informative “preride talk” to help your ride be as safe and fun as possible.
