Wyoming Fishing: the streams and lakes of the Gros Ventre Mountains
We are one of the oldest fishing guide services in the Pinedale, Wyoming area….
From the novice to the expert, we offer a wide variety of Wyoming fishing excursions to suit your needs. Our aim is to provide you with great fishing, along with the best of western hospitality. We can help you create your itinerary–combine this with a horseback trip for you and your family or friends staying at our pristine and comfortable camp–or just do day trips. Whatever your pleasure, we will help with your plans.
Fishing the mountain streams and lakes gives anglers an intimate, unique experience. Working upstream with a lightweight fly rod, fishing mostly dry flies, captivates many, if not all, anglers — not to mention the amazing scenery of the Gros Ventre and Wind River Ranges. These two mountain ranges offer some of the most untouched fly fishing in the lower 48 states.
We are permitted to fish Dell, Jack and Granite Creek Drainages. Each Creek offers a different character and different fishing. All require some degree of precision as these are little mountain streams that hold fish in tiny water. Most fish will eat a fly…mended or unmended. We carry a line of 2-4 weight fly rod outfits for ultimate fun with these vicious high country creatures. Terrestrial dry fly fishing is a blast from July-September. The scenery is beautiful making this area a wonderful place to fish in summer.
A true western fishing experience for wild trout!
Our Cabin/Basecamp is located between Dell and Jack Creeks. They both have a unique character and can be fished in a day while visiting camp. Our camp & creeks are only accessible by ATV/jeep or horseback, all on National Forest Lands. The Setting is wonderful and the trip goes unmatched – a true Wyoming adventure. If walking a high country stream with a lightweight fly rod is your thing…this is for you. The mountains are “in your face”, the wildflowers are everywhere and the setting offers solitude.
Tenkara anglers welcome!
Our range of fishing itineraries includes beaver pond and stream fishing; wilderness lake fishing. Our mountain fishing excursions provide great opportunities for floating alpine lakes, where we catch, Cutthroat, Brook, Rainbow and Brown trout.
