Wyoming Horseback Riding Adventures

Our rides are an adventure!  This rugged, wild Wyoming landscape has always called out to the adventurous heart. It beckons us to roam the mountains on horseback, dip beneath the whispering pines and find that piece of the soul that lingers on tall mountain tops.

This call has been answered by a few before us and GRBTO offers you the chance to do the same! Come horseback ride on the wind swept trails with us on our seasoned, hard-working horses while you take in the sights and reconnect. We, your experienced guides, will explore the majesty of Wyoming's Gros Ventre Wilderness with you, seeing this country much the same as our ancestors before us. When you ride with GRBTO, you will not see developed land; all of our rides are conducted entirely in National Forest and wilderness.   No nose-to-tail rides here--all of our rides are on interesting trails that demand that the rider participate and ultimately improve their horse skills.

Two Hour Horseback Trail Ride
It may be only two hours, but if you are short on time, here is the best way to wet your WY appetite. We take you through a variety of terrain that includes mountain meadows, thick timber, past beaver ponds and across streams. In addition to all that, we will pause highenough for a 360 degree view that includes two mountain ranges and highlights our beloved Sawtooth.  No roads or buildings where we go. Once you experience it, you may have to come back for more, but on this trip, you are in the wilds of Wyoming the entire time and get a pure Western experience.

We stop for a break to take it all in, while enjoying a drink and small snack that you will carry along in your saddlebags. Our horseback rides are for buckaroos 8 years and over and before every ride we give a short, informative "preride talk" to help your ride be as safe and fun as possible.

9:30 a.m. A morning start gives you the best odds for good weather, but afternoon rides may be an option.

Prices start at $85/p and includes snack. Four riders minimum; we can combine groups.

Half Day plus! Horseback Trail Rides

Let us take you to our secluded, 100+ year old historic cabin, on horseback for a real taste of what life was like in days of old.  Our trail takes us through interesting terrain, including timbered forest, open meadows, through streams and up high for breath-taking views.  Midway, we will take a break at our historic cabin and enjoy a hearty sack lunch.  You can learn its history and have time to poke around; perhaps we'll glimpse a beaver working diligently in the pond or a moose wandering through camp. Going back, we travel a different trail looking in the mountain meadows for wildlife and taking in scenic views.  As with all our rides, you will be in wild, pure woodlands with no development in sight!

Our horseback rides are for buckaroos 8 years and over and before every ride we give a short, informative "preride talk" to help your ride be as safe and fun as possible. You should allow about 4-5 hours for this experience.

We have start time options:  9:30 a.m.  or  1:30 p.m. are the standards.
